Doug Skiles

Douglas W. Skiles, CPA

Doug has been a corporate shareholder since 1981 and has been the senior partner in the McCook office since that time. He graduated from University of Nebraska-Kearney with honors in 1977, receiving a comprehensive business major with a double emphasis in accounting and management. Doug has extensive background in income and estate taxation, and tax and financial planning for individuals, corporations, partnerships, LLCs, estates and trusts. With public accounting experience since 1977, Doug works with many small businesses, contractors, farmers, ranchers, professional people, with expertise in media including newspaper publishing and radio.

Currently, Doug is serving on the Nebraska Board of Public Accountancy, where he is the Vice Chair of the Board, and chairs the Education and Exam Committee. Appointed by Governor Johanns in 2003, Doug was re-appointed for a term ending 2008. Doug also serves on the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) Education Committee. He also is a founding member and treasurer of the McCook Community Foundation and serves on Prairie Plains CASA Board. Doug is also serving on the McCook Airport Advisory Committee. He has certified as a lay speaker and is active serving area churches.

Past service includes the Chairman of McCook Community College Vocational Education Advisory Committee, a member of the McCook High School Vocational Education Committee, as an accounting instructor for University of Nebraska-Kearney and Mid Plains Community College, continuing education instructor for Nebraska Real Estate Commission and Nebraska Insurance Commission. He has also served on the Nebraska Jaycees Board where he was a District Director and Nebraska Jaycees Cystic Fibrosis Program Manager, and the Nebraska United Methodist Charge Conference Finance and Administration Committee.
